Thoroughbred
Alex was born in 2004. Before joining the herd, he lived a full life of eventing. He is now famous for giving cuddles and sticking out his tongue. Despite a suspensory injury in his prior life, Alex still loves to run!
Goldfish
Dutch Warmblood
Goldfish was born in 2011 and was an eventing athlete before joining us. He’s known at the barn for being a silly goose! His playful attitude sometimes gets him in trouble, but he shines in the round pen while forming relationships.
Roscoe
Welsh/Arabian
Born in 2008, Roscoe has a spirited nature and is known for his troublemaking antics. He is owned by Susan Price, but when she’s not riding him around the farm, you can find him in ground lessons or veteran sessions.
Savannah
Draft/Morgan
Savannah is the sweetest of mares who was with her owner from birth in 1997. Now, she lives to serve others at our barn! She’s not a huge fan of small spaces or motorcycles, but she loves kids. Her favorite spot to be scratched is her ears!
Secret
Hanoverian
Secret was born in 2006. Despite a previous injury to the superficial ligament on his left hind leg, he’s stubborn and sweet enough to stay strong for those he serves! Secret is known as Prancing Horse’s resident model due to his excellent poses! Typically, he can be found in the pasture hanging out with his best friend, Stuart.
Lucy
Quarter
Lucy was born in 1999. She used to be a barrel racer back in the day, but is now happy to take each day slowly, one step at a time! She’s known at the barn for her swayback, as well as the calmness she brings to everyone.
Penny
Quarter
Prior to joining our barn, Penny served at another therapeutic riding center. She’s now thriving with us and quick to respond with love to anything thrown her way! Penny is sometimes quick, and sometimes not – it all depends on where the food is. Did someone say apples? Oh, that was just Penny.
Joker
Quarter
Born in 2005, Joker stands at 15.1 hands high and has a stocky build, which can carry all sizes and shapes! Previously, Joker lived as a husband’s trail horse, so you know he’s solid. His name comes from his too-cool demeanor and all the joy he brings! We like to say he’s got more “whoa” than go.
Lulu
Companion Goat
Lulu was adopted as a companion goat several years ago, and has been a perfect fit! Now, she’s practically famous, as she appears in a book written by our lovely volunteers. Lulu loves carrots and apples just like the rest of the herd, and you can typically find her out in the pasture with her BFF, Ed. She may not be equine, but she is a mighty pal!
Ed
Companion Goat
Ed was born around June 2023 and was sponsored by some lovely volunteers as a companion goat. Previously, he was a 4H show goat and he loves to share his moves! You can typically catch him doing some goat yoga on the fence or hanging out with his best friend, Lulu. Yes, he has some tags in his ears, but we think it adds to his charm!
Ophelia
Barn Cat
Ophelia, AKA “Ophy,” was donated to us by Feline Friends of Moore County. She’s the mama of the whole farm, and has even had kittens before! Typically, you can find Ophelia curled up somewhere cozy and waiting for snuggles. She is always the first to say hello, and the last to leave.
Snape
Barn Cat
Snape is new to our barn, having appeared one day and deciding he liked it enough to stay. He is incredibly friendly and loves his food. If you’re trying to win his heart, and good snack will do the trick!
